The Spotlight May 29, 2009

Barbara Keith is a self-taught glass mosaicist living in Lanesboro, Minnesota.  After taking a class in stained glass she decided to try mosaics using the scrap glass from finished projects.  On a trip to Italy she became inspired by the ancient mosaics and since her return her mosaics “have been coming fast and furious ever since.”  Drawing on her training in art and graphic design, her artwork continues to evolve and change.

Barbara has won many awards for her art and is represented in many galleries.  In addition to her skill as a glass mosaicist she is also a freelance graphic designer, an actor, and a childrens book author.  One of her newest pieces, “Aurora” has been added to the slide show and can be viewed by clicking on the Local Area Artist box below.
