Last month I spotlighted Ellen Mcdonah and posted a photo of her painting “After The Potato Harvest” in the artists slide show. Just last week she got a website up and running so if you like to see more of her work just click on the link www.elmcdonah.com. A couple weeks ago I was thumbing through the Jan/Feb issue of La Crosse Magazine and found another local area potter, Nancy Monsebroten. The magazine featured her series of porcelain vessels titled “White Earth,” an homage to her childhood in the Dakotas its visual images and memories. In addition to her two page spread in that magazine she has also been published in Ceramics Monthly and American Craft Magazine. Nancy has also exhibited her work and received awards internationally. One of my favorite pieces is titled “Peace Lily Bowl” and is posted in the slide gallery. To view the gallery just click on the “local Area Artists” box below.
