At Gallery La Crosse through July 11th Maureen Kavaney Tillman is presenting her multi-media works under the Theme title of “Sanctuaries, Dreams, & Shadows.” Also, opening soon will be an exhibition of jewelry and paintings by Sailaja Hari, under the theme title of “Treasures of India.” Gallery La Crosse is located at 320 Main Street, La Crosse, WI. Cornucopia Art Center
Ceramic artist Kelly Jean Ohl’s exhibit “Sticks and Stones” is on display until July 12th. This exhibit features ceramic wall sculptures as well as large free-standing sculptures and sculptural bowl arrangements. Also at Cornucopia Art Center “The Art of Good Fortune — Acrylic Paintings by Erik Pearson. Inspired by Messages in Fortune Cookies.” This exhibit will run July 18 through September 6th, 2009, with two free events on Saturday July 18th: from 6-8pm will be an opening reception at Cornucopia Art Center with artist Erik Pearson, live music by Dave O’Mara and food provided by Heidi Dybing; and at 8:30pm will be a 30-min. film about Erik Pearson’s painting process held at the St. Mane Theatre, also in downtown Lanesboro, MN. “Throwing it Down” is a documentary by Arden Durham, Frozen Artist Videos LLC.
Jeannie M. Bush, Quilting From My Heart, will exhibit “Stained Glass Quilts” at the State Capitol, Madison, WI, in Representative Jennifer Schilling’s office. “Eternal Hope,” pictured to the right is just one of many. “X-Rays,” a mixed media exhibit by Sara Bina will be on display throughout the summer at Viterbo University’s Todd Wehr Memorial Library Gallery. The exhibit includes oil paintings, prints, and sculpture. Hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30am to 9:00pm, Fridays 7:30am to 5:00pm, Saturdays 1:00pm to 5:00pm, and Sundays from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

As an artist and teacher for over 45 years, Donna’s passion to create art has not slowed down. She has gained much insight of the world and uses ten different media to show her world. Her exhibit will show artworks that were created from 1967 through 2008. Dancing is a main theme in her work and movement is apparent through her use of line, color, and shape.

Kathrine is intrigued with the tension that exists between human cultivation of the land and forces of Mother Nature. Her work is directed towards exploring the loss of either man made landscape or nature itself, and how one landscape begins to consume the other. She uses the house form in her work as both a symbol of the home and a representation of the human imprint on the landscape.
La Crosse Public Library Upstairs Gallery is showing a variety of Emily Jarrett’s artwork during the month of July. Jarrett works in charcoal, pastel, and oil paint. In addition to portraits she paints floral, still-life, wildlife, and landscape. You can also see Emily Jarretts artwork on her website jarrettartist.com
At Winona State University’s Paul Watkins Gallery and Saint Mary’s University’s Lillian Davis Hogan Galleries through July 24th you can see the First Annual Southeast Minnesota Regional Juried Art Exhibition. For more information click on the Tribune link.
