A Bunch of Bull

This post isn’t about Coulee Art but its noteworty. Damien Hirst, the “Bad Boy of British Art,” set a new record for an auction of one artist’s work breaking the old record set in 1993 by Picasso. 70 Million Pounds, or there abouts. Unbelieveable as far as I am concerned, as Hirst is most famous for his pickled art. I’m serious. He put animals such as sharks and cows in glass tanks filled with formaldehyde. Here is a link for those interested  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7617878.stm . I don’t know about you but I’d rather have a Picasso on the wall than a pickled animal sitting in my living room.

I did swing by Viterbo yesterday to check out John Richardson’s sculpture exhibit. I don’t know what to day about that except it really wasn’t my cup of tea, although the college did have some nice ceramics on display in the hallways. Next stop UWL.
